Yemen adopted the first integrated document addressing population issues in 1991 AD, which was represented by the then government’s approval of the National Population Strategy and its plan of action. By the end – the objectives of the strategy covered a period of ten years (1990 – 2000). The period covered by the objectives of the strategy, the General Secretariat of the National Population Council began preparing to extend and modernize The National Population Policy as a body responsible for this mission has – in cooperation and coordination with relevant authorities for the coming period (2001 – 2025 AD) – the objectives and directions of this policy have been crystallized based on a review and evaluation of the population conditions of our country through many demographic, economic and social studies that have dealt with population issues through analysis and evaluation. And future trends and their relationship to development and the environment, and are consistent with the nature of the economic, social and cultural environment of the population of the Republic of Yemen and the authentic values ​​of our people, accommodating national, regional and international changes and the challenges of the third millennium, and compatible with the national efforts made to consolidate the foundations of integrated development in accordance with the national strategic vision for sustainable development until the year 2025 AD, And the issue of integrating population variables into the five-year development plan (2001-2025 AD).
